OXFORD THAMES FOUR PILLARS HOTEL TO INCREASE EVENTS CAPACITY
One of Oxford’s most popular hotels is investing £2 million on a multi-functional Conservatory for events and dining along with new and upgraded bedrooms. Due to open in May 2013, the new bedrooms will increase the riverside property’s capacity to 84 rooms and the Conservatory will add 135 m2 of space to the hotel’s current choice of 9 rooms for private events.

The hotel is converting a courtyard area adjacent to its popular River Room Restaurant into a multi-functional Conservatory. This will create a light and airy option for functions, receptions and meetings, and will link the Little Barn and the Restaurant together, giving the option to use all three spaces as one for more flexibility. The Conservatory will also be used as an addition to the River Room Restaurant for dining as well as incorporating relaxing lounge areas.

The 22 new Garden Rooms are linked to the existing buildings, and feature a contemporary style, to complement the remainder of the four star property. All will have views of the hotels beautiful gardens, with many benefitting from views of The River Thames which meanders through the hotels 30 acre grounds. In line with all of the hotels rooms, the Garden Rooms will include tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, digital television and complimentary wireless high-speed internet access.

The hotels 22 Sandford bedrooms have also recently been refurbished with new dcor, seating and furniture, drapery, soft furnishings and bathroom upgrades to give them a fresh new look. New car parking spaces will be added to support the new facilities.

Jonathan Oldroyd, General Manager of the hotel says, The new facilities are part of our continuing focus on offering our clients the very best facilities. The Conservatory and new bedrooms will enable us to offer even more flexibility to organisers of events of all kinds, from meetings and conferences to weddings and private parties. We look forward to hearing from organisations wishing to be among the first to enjoy these exciting new facilities spring 2013.
