Teviot Row House is one of the Student Union buildings managed by Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) and is the world’s oldest purpose built Student Union building. Teviot Row House was built in a 16th Century Scots architectural style with late Gothic features. It has a variety of catering and bar areas, a versatile debating chamber, a dining room, and many other meeting rooms.

Recent refurbishment programmes include the creation of the New Amphion coffee bar and restaurant on the mezzanine level – now with a new licensed bar – the Loft Bar on the Debating Hall level and the Chocolate Moose; the olde style sweetshop on the ground floor.

The Middle Reading Room and Balcony Room are the two bespoke boardroom style conference facilities, both having been recently refurbished; each with accommodation for 24 delegates. Larger events, requiring services for up to 250 delegates, may be accommodated in the Debating Hall.

Teviot Row House is centrally located within easy access to Waverley Station and the visitor attractions of the Old Town.

Teviot’s bespoke boardroom was fully upgraded in January 2012. The Middle Reading Room may also be booked with the adjoining Dining Room for all-inclusive conferences, receptions and commercial presentations.

Teviot’s secondary boardroom is located on the top floor directly above the Middle Reading Room and offers similar accommodation and services.

The traditional Dining Room sits grandly in the centre of Teviot. It is available for use as a function, reception or meeting space alongside being able to cater for up to 200diners.

The Debating Hall is the largest venue in Teviot with its high ceilings and historic atmosphere. The Debating Hall is no stranger to traditional ceilidhs; sit down dinners, receptions, buffets, club nights, band nights, parties, presentations and theatre evenings. This is arguably the most versatile venue in Teviot. Capacity of this venue depends on the event, for dinners it is 200, while for club nights it is 410. This venue is equipped with a full sound and lighting system in place for hire. We can also provide a DJ with a variety of music or technical support for a band.
