The George Hotel has fifteen bedrooms, refurbished in country house style and in keeping with the building’s history and contours, some with large bathrooms, some with Jacuzzis or Victorian roll-top tubs. Its strength has always been its ambience, cuisine and warmth of welcome – a perfect setting for good food and company. The emphasis in the dining room is on using the very best of local produce – well hung West Highland beef and lamb from the market, seafood and fish from the local port of Tarbert and Loch Fyne salmon. Inveraray is the perfect centre for touring Argyll. It has its own castle and jail, walks on the Argyll estate, Crarae Gardens and Ardkinglas Gardens, a farming museum and fishing and golf nearby. Helpful staff at the George will be pleased to advise on how to get the best out of this fascinating area.
The George has conferencing facilities for up to 50 people. Smaller meetings for up to 30 can be held in the library.
Weddings can be held in the Library or Conservatory up to a maximum of 50 people. We offer a very intimate setting with a variety of menus to suit you.
