Situated on the borders of Blackheath and Greenwich Park, Ranger’s House is an elegant early Georgian villa with graceful panelled interiors.
It was built around 1700 as the official residence of the Ranger of Greenwich and is now home to the Wernher Collection, an impressive display of silver, jewels, paintings and porcelain purchased by the diamond magnate Sir Julius Wernher. The highlight is the jewel vault which holds more than 100 Renaissance pieces, each exquisitely enamelled and studded with gems and represents one of the finest jewellery collections in Europe.
With sumptuous interiors, Ranger’s House is a stylish and memorable setting for special events and will be available for drinks receptions and dinners from Spring 2006. A licence to also hold civil wedding ceremonies has now been granted.
