Located in the heart of Cambridge, Midsummer House is set in a handsome Victorian villa beside the River Cam.
Entertaining at Midsummer is spread across two floors, which can accommodate up to 64 diners. Our ground floor Dining Room holds up to 44, and is partly to be found within the walls of the ‘Old House’, and partly inside The Conservatory. Every table overlooks Midsummer Common or Chef’s Herb Garden, which surrounds The Conservatory and has tables suitable for aperitifs and post-prandial delights – weather permitting!
On the first floor we find the Blue Room, our Private Dining Room which seats between 8 and 20. Adjacent is the River Room lounge, and the outside Terrace, both of which are perched high above The Cam. The River Room is used all year round for enjoying Champagne through Cognac, coffee and cigars.
Chef Patron Daniel Clifford devises tailored tasting menus for groups of any size: his creative cuisine is well suited to both canapés and more extended menus from small, explosive mouthfuls and larger, longer, more narrative affairs. A live feed from two cameras in the kitchen is beamed to a plasma screen in the Blue Room so that private parties can watch the disciplined brigade in action.
An ideal venue for private parties, functions, small business meetings or conferences and weddings.
